Hello from Tess!

I started working with the Research Strategy and Innovation Office on 5 October this year as a PGR Intern, and while I'm here I'll be helping to organise some events like 3MT (Three-minute Thesis) and the Research Staff Conference. It's eye-opening to see the management of training opportunities for post-graduate and early career researchers at university from an insider perspective. Also, before I started, I knew very little about the training, practical learning activities and career development/planning opportunities that the university offers, so working here is definitely helping me to understand exactly what happens during PhD studies at the University of Glasgow.

I'm currently studying towards an MLitt History of Art: Art: Politics: Transgression: 20th Century Avant-gardes within the School of Culture and Creative Arts, which I can't recommend highly enough. In real life I'm a sculptor and I also volunteer for Glasgow Women's Library, working with their archives and collections team.
