Hello from Hannah!
Hello! I started work at the Research Strategy and Innovation Office in October 2015 as a Strategy & Policy intern and will be blogging here quite regularly, so wanted to introduce myself. My name is Hannah and I'm currently in the process of completing my PhD in English Literature here at Glasgow, having just gone into my writing up year. I'm studying three British avant-garde novelists (Anna Kavan, Alexander Trocchi and Ann Quin) who have all been relatively neglected in academic studies, so my thesis aims to address this lack of critical attention and further an understanding of their work.
Throughout the three years of my PhD I have found the Research Development training on offer here at Glasgow to be very useful. And working here in the office, I'm much more aware of just how many and diverse opportunities there are for researchers to get involved in development programmes and initiatives. Part of the aim of this newly updated blog will be to let you know what is happening in terms of research development around campus and we hope to showcase the different and exciting projects many of our research students are involved in. So if you have a story or an idea, or would like to get involved and maybe write a blogpost (or two), don't hesitate to get in touch!
Many thanks for reading and keep an eye on here for some more Research Development news coming up!
All the best,
Hannah
