Bringing some 'real' science into the classroom

Bringing some 'real' science into the classroom

The Science Learning Centres are looking for early career researchers to get involved with their Fresh Science project -  the online component of their teacher CPD programme The idea is to help secondary science teachers bring contemporary science and real scientific data into their classes.  Each researcher would work with one or two individual teachers via a website to develop a classroom resource using the researcher's data.   The anticipated time commitment is 1 hour/week for 12 weeks. Participating researchers must be funded by one of the Research Councils and are required to provide:

  • A short written account of their research

  • A sample data set that could be used by students

  • A short video bio explaining their career path (if possible)

I'd love to hear if anyone gets involved in this.  It sounds really exciting.
