Write For Us

Please send a word document containing: (1) a title, (2) a one line bio, (3) the text of your post, and (4) a copyright free photo* to nadine.juarezrendon@glasgow.ac.uk.  

Once a draft is received we will work with you to provide editorial support to shape, format, post and promote the article. 

We commit to making the blog site accessible to all readers in line with the 2019 accessibility requirements for public sector bodies. 

Authors can ensure their post is well read by: 

  • Ensuring posts are around 750 words.   

  • Keeping writing sharp, to the point and avoid academic language.   

  • Including an image. 

  • Where suitable, embed links to relevant webpages, other blog posts, etc within the body of your post as links or ensure that there is signposting to workshops and events, resources or contacts etc at the end of the post. Avoid outbound links in the introduction. 

  • Remember your audience: keep it light, targeted and write respectfully. 

  • Making sure kept short and the post is divided into headings (e.g. title, subheadings) 

 

IMAGES  

All posts must include one relevant image, which will be used as the post header. 

You must have the correct copyright permissions for use of images, if they are not your own (images explicitly labelled for reuse / non-commercial reuse under the 'Creative Commons' license).  If you are giving us permission to use your own photos etc. then you will retain copyright of these and we will credit them as such.   

Work on the blog is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, which means that other blogs etc. can republish the material as long as they credit you (as the author) and the blog.


Our articles are licensed using Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike which means you can republish them, as long as you credit the author and the blog, linking back to the original article. You cannot make editorial changes to the article without prior agreement and copyright of images should be respected (e.g. where these have been provided by guest bloggers etc.).
