The results are finally in! The standard of entries in this year’s competition was exceptionally high. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we did.

My beloved thesis,

I know we are reaching a point now when you are starting to grow apart from me. After nearly three years together I feel you are a bit distant from me. I noticed you got confident about yourself, and you feel like you don’t need me anymore. I know you want to explore the world on your own, and you secretly wish you could leave me behind.

However, silly of me, I still love you like the first day. And I am not ready to let you go. I feel we still have so much to learn from each other. I know together we can become a better version of ourselves. I believe in us. You have taught me so much patience and optimism, that life can be good and that with hard work any dream can come true.

We have been a great team. We have gone through the craziest adventures... Like when just you, me and the backpack travelled across the country and met the most amazing people. Do you remember the woman who was almost 100 years old? And all those lovely people who opened their houses and their hearts to us? They trusted us, you know? They have passed on us something special, precious. And I will carry that with me forever.

Even if you decide we have to take separate paths from now on, I want you to know I am thankful for the time I got to spend with you. I will never be the same person after all we have lived together.

I love you and I always will.
